Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/30/2021

Number: 20

This afternoon, I sat for 15 minutes at an area on the opposite side (from this morning's observation) of our 20 acre Monarch Waystation here at Manderley Farm in Blue Bell, PA. During that time, over an area of approx. 50ft.x75ft., I saw 20 adult Monarchs flying over the berms covered in swamp & common milkweed, bee balm, coneflowers, and other native wildflowers.

Of those 20, I saw two pairs flying & spiraling close together, but did not witness mating. Most were intent on the flowers and then moved on to other areas of the field.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get photos of the Monarchs; the attached photo is from July 19th, and it shows where I was observing from this afternoon.
