Monarch Egg Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 07/30/2021

Number: 3

Found on tropical milkweed (annual here). These do not look close to hatching like the others found in the yard a couple days ago, or the one I just found on A. Tuberosa.
Anyway, that makes four milkweed species in one yard where monarch eggs were laid this week, either all on one day or on a couple of days. Have six species, but the fascicularis is too numerous and small-leaved to search, and the asperity is just one plant with fairly tough leaves.
Feel free to merge this observation with the other two, and I’ll see if the eggs pop on the same day or not. Expect that most will pop tomorrow but these three from the tropical milkweed will take another day at least.
All were harvested for captive rearing.
