One lonely caterpillar on the goldenrod. I bent the stalk towards the milkweed plants and he crawled over to "food." I tried to find him later but couldn't. Last year at this time, our milkweed was full of caterpillars. Not this year. The only other caterpillar we saw this year was a
tiny hatchling several weeks ago on milkweed growing in the grove.
