For me in Houston Ruby throats hummingbirds are migrating back. Just got 1 checking dwarf potted Hamelia at 7:30 a.m.

Just about all inground purple Aimstead have crashed due to high heat index all of July. Now Trimmed so they hopefully grow back before overwintering Rufous return. We did find more purple Aimstead to put in containers for back up. Black and Blue salvias have umbrellas over them. Potted Skyscraper salvias were all put inground to save.
This has been the most challenging 2020-2021 year for plants along with cov break out. Inground covered purple salvias, Black and blue salvias did freeze back even with snow,ice on top of coverings Feb.2020. Rain all June made plants grow too high. Tubular red Cana lilies are 10 feet high but heat has
not crashed them out. We're hanging in there.
