I have been seeing one monarch in my garden for over a week. Occasionally one or more will come in and be chased out. Until today I haven't had a close enough look to determine the sex. I have assumed I was seeing a male based on behavior. Getting nectar but mostly flying around and chasing away other monarchs. No egg laying. However this one in the picture is definitely a female. Is it the same one I have been seeing? Impossible to know. Will do my count for MLMP tomorrow. Results will be interesting.
