Because of predators, I had given my milkweed plants to a friend in another neighborhood. Then I was gifted a "Butterfly Bush" which turned out to be milkweed. A frantic mother must have laid her total load on that small plant. The caterpillars stripped it in two days. I luckily found a home for them on Next Door and transported them to a nearby milkweed heaven at a volunteer breeder's garden.
