big bright monarch flying below our level along pipeline right-of-way at eastbound entrance to Dulles Toll Highway at Fairfax County Parkway. Teasel, evening primrose, moth mullein, Queen Anne's lace, and pasture thistle nearby for possible nectar sources. this is at a location once a stream known as Stave Run, but now barely a roadside ditch with most flow diverted underground below Fairfax County Parkway.
