Monarch, Captive-Reared

Date: 08/06/2021

Number: 1

1:12pm, warm, partially overcast skies, wind 4 MPH from NNW. I released a male Monarch a few minutes ago and before he could even get up and going another Monarch dived after him. They both fell down in the back garden. I went in there and found them on the ground. It looked liked the other male Monarch was trying to mate with the just released Monarch. I picked them up and one Monarch flew off. The other crawled onto my finger and I put him back in the flight cube for a few minutes to rest up. I released him in a different part of the yard and he fly off without further interference.
