I did not observed any monarchs the last two days at 9 locations I monitor. Today, after an all morning and early afternoon rain, the sun shown, and I observed 2 male monarchs on my wife's purple coneflowers in the front yard garden. I went to my joe-pye-weed garden in the backyard and observed a female monarch nectaring. I decided to do my other 8 locations on a one mile walk between 3:18 PM and 4:04 PM, and counted 10 monarchs. One was in directional flight, while the others were nectaring on Spotted Knapweed at 2 locations. Weather was mostly cloudy and muggy. The Wind was S-11 mph. The Temperature was 72F.
