Took a walk today on our restored prairie acres and also a prairie remnant I burned this spring. About equal amounts of Monarchs on both. The burned remnant had more per acre than did the restored grassland. Meadow and Rough blazing star are starting to bloom. Joe pye weed and Virginia mountain mint are in full bloom today. Some Prairie blazing star is still going but over the peak. The goldenrods are starting to show color.
