At 3:50PM today, I saw a monarch butterfly flying over some wildflowers at the very back of the beach. It was cloudy, 60's temperature. It was flying over a yellow wildflower that had 4 petals, tiny, to each blossom. 3 clusters of blossoms together on a long stem. Leaf has a jagged edge. Wildflower looks weedy. No milkweed was present. Then, it flew upward, over a large bush toward the parking lot direction. My husband first spotted it and told me. I wad excited!
