Sightings report image

Number: 1

I was outside in my back yard 12:30 PM ( MILD AND SUNNY. 78 DEGREE OR SO) and at first I assumed it was another GF butterfly. I had seen a few Gulf Fritillary butterflies recently. ( they seem to be moving in. sometimes I see in pairs). But then it flew around me really close a couple times ( as if to be, like " see take a good look at these wings, I'm a monarch") The first I have seen up close in berkeley in quite a while and the second i have seen on my property. it flew around the flowers but did not stop and i was not able to take a photo or see if it was male or female. it headed away in southernly direction to the next yard (photo is of flower)
