Sighted two Monarchs, first one flew quickly south to north across front yard, second flew from the west side of house into butterfly garden, briefly showed interest in small newly planted Joe Pye weed, then flew over to other end of garden, fluttered among phlox stems didn't nectar, flew to salvia and spread its wings briefly sunning itself but left garden after appx 20 seconds. Time appx 12:30 p.m., weather mostly sunny, temp appx 68 deg, minimal wind.
