On my 2 mile walk to the Post Office and back to my house, I counted 3 monarchs at 2 of 9 locations that I monitor. Two of the monarchs were nectaring on purple flowered spikes of a butterfly bush. The other was nectaring on a Canada Thistle flower. The time was 1 PM to 2:30 PM. The other monarch was observed flying southwest at 3:40 PM in directional flight about 7' above the ground at my house. It even flew over my Joe-pye-weed plants. Weather was sunny with the Wind ESE-6 mph. The Temperature was 73F.
