Two separate sightings of adult Monarchs (one at a time) nectaring on milkweed flowers along Adirondack Loj Rd North Elba, NY, near Lake Placid. For the past few years, milkweed has been left undisturbed by the farmer/town and now lines this road in several long stands. Here and there, there's evidence that Monarch caterpillars have feasted but most milkweed leaves appeared undisturbed. The milkweed leaves were in good condition but the majority of their flowers had faded. Enough remained to attract and feed these two Monarchs.
