I have been watching the whole process from mom laying eggs on common milkweed in my garden through the emergence of many larva emerging consuming growing leaving. Last night I saw a chrysalis attached to the house. This morning at 10 am I checked it. She had emerged as a butterfly. Took her first steps. I think she looked at me. Flapped her wings a few times. Flew into the maple tree. It is a spiritual experience. An animal connected to knowing that we are not aware of.
