At 10:30 AM, I observed a female monarch on my Joe-pye-weed plants in my backyard garden. It nectared with the honey bees for most of the day. Between 11 AM and 12:30 PM, I walked to town and counted 8 monarchs at 4 of 8 locations I monitor. Spotted Knapweed, purple flowered butterfly bushes, and yellow cone flowers seemed to be the monarch's favorites. Weather was 100% sunshine with the Wind ESE-10 mph, and the Temperature was 73F.
