On my 2 mile walk to town and back to my house, I observed no monarchs at 10 of 18 locations that I monitor between 1:30 PM and 3 PM. However, while sitting on my swing in the back yard, a monarch swooped in from the north at 6:15 PM and landed on my Joe-pye-weed. The male monarch stayed long enough for a photo before flying south in directional flight over my maple trees. Weather was a hazy sunshine with the Dew Point at 74%. The Wind was E-5 mph, and the Temperature was 75F.
