On my 2 mile walk to town and back to my house, I counted 2 monarchs at 13 of 18 locations I monitor between 1:30 PM and 2:45 PM. At my back yard, I saw a Viceroy Butterfly land on my Joe-pye-weed that turned out to be a very small male monarch! I went to get my net to try a capture it for a picture, but when I came back, it was in directional flight heading WSW at 2:50 PM. Finally, another male monarch appeared at 4:50 PM, and it also headed WSW by 5 PM. Weather was hazy with the Wind SE-3 mph. The Temperature was 80F.
