I decided to watch my Joe-pye-weed garden today instead of a walk. I began at noon, and a female monarch landed on the flowers at 12:35 PM. She was joined by another female and a male monarch at 2:15 PM. At 3 PM, another male joined them. Finally, a female landed at 3:50 PM. They nectared until they all left at 5 PM. They were in directional flight. Four of them headed WSW, and the other headed south up over my maple trees. Weather was 100% sunshine with the Wind SSE-6-11 mph. The Dew Point was 67% with the Temperature topping out at 82F.
