There was a monarch chrysalis on a chicory plant in my backyard since Sunday, 08/15/21, but when I went outside today, it was gone. I looked around and saw this adult monarch (see photo) was fanning its wings on a nearby pink swamp milkweed. Possibly the new butterfly!
