Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/24/2021

Number: 51

I have been feeding caterpillars found along our dirt roads--with the farms haying, roadside is mostly where Milkweed stays untouched, except everyone drives too fast knocking caterpillars off or pulls off on the side (ironically to hike and enjoy nature) but run the milkweed over and anything on it. I have rescued 55. Feed them in hanging butterfly cubes outside under the canopy of a tree. About 7 still munching. About 30 in Chrysalis. 9 successfully released to date. 4 languished while hanging in J. Will update gender on releases once they've all flown away.
