Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 08/24/2021

Number: 1

Very fresh male monarch (sorry for poor quality of photo), appeared to be hardening its wings by hanging from aspen trunk and branches. Nearby is my milkweed garden of A. speciosa and A. syriaca. Nectar flowers include rudbeckia, Russian sage, agastache, common sunflower and gaillardia. Fairly sure it is not a released captive-reared, since my last release was four days ago. Good to know that finally one "wild" Monarch made it through its life cycle. 89 F, clear blue sky, no breeze, 4:30 p.m. Way Station 9418
