I spotted a solitary monarch around my butterfly bush at 11:56 in the morning. The day was very hot with little breeze. I ran to get my camera just in time to see the monarch float across the street and then turn southward. Unable to identify sex or to get a photo.
I had butterfly weed nearby and will keep an eye out for possible eggs and caterpillars.
