13 monarch butterflies slowly wandering thru yard, stopping at zinnia garden, pausing in amur maple hedge before filtering thru in 50' of observation. SE wind 10MPH.
Saw first murmuration of blackbirds yesterday morning. First common nighthawks pre dusk hunting 8/24 AS THEY FILTERED SE OVER FIELDS. More common kingbirds along grassy Wildlife areas and field edges than I can ever remember. Groups of adult purple martins lining power wires this AM before a rain shower, 25+ . Area wetlands extremely low or totally dried, worst observed in 35+ years . fall is starting for the critters
