After a morning rain, I went on my 2 mile walk to the Post Office and counted 15 monarchs between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. Twelve monarchs were nectaring on three purple flowered butterfly bushes, and one was nectaring on a Spotted Knapweed flower. The other two were just flying around in town. On my return home, I saw a female monarch in my Joe-pye-weed garden at 1:40 PM. She left at 3:40 PM under darkening rain clouds. Wind was NNE-10 mph with the Temperature at 70F.
