Male. Found on a pesticide-free milkweed plant (Sand Vine/Cynanchum laeve) in my front garden at about 4th/5th instar around the early part of August.
Taken to be raised indoors due to an "infestation" of Milkweed Assassin Bugs and Wheel Bugs. I had seen them feeding on other 4th/5th instar caterpillars, but hadn't seen any new adults or chrysalides.
Released by hand on 27 August. Flew north (due to my house being in the way) before I lost sight of him. Flew strongly despite stiff winds.
The second I don't have a picture of. A contractor found it on the same Sand Vine plant early in the morning. She said it was still/lethargic for a few hours before taking off, so it must have just eclosed this morning.
