Spotted our first chrysalis outdoors this year and had tracked one monarch caterpillar munching for several days on one of a dozen butterfly weeds in our yard. This chrysalis is towards the top of our Japanese lilac bush next to the butterfly weed it was feeding on. We raised 47 inside our home from egg stage.
