We live on Lake Huron in Alpena, MI, and found 6 dead monarchs on our beach a few days after a wind and rain storm. We are directly across the lake from Georgian Bay, so not sure if they were coming from Canada having left there for to begin their fall migration. All I know is that it was very sad. (My date is approximate because I didn't know I would be filling out this form. It would have been some time during this week, though.) Very sad as I'm a monarch lover and I raise them from July through mid-September. I don't think these were any of mine, though, because I hadn't released any larger groups during that time period.
