I just watched a juvenile or female ruby-throated hummingbird on my picnic patio stop first on many blossoms of Fuchsia "Gartenmeister Bonstedt," then a couple of red bedding salvia "Vista," then many flowers on a large Saliva microphylla "Hot Lips," with a detour to some yellow jewelweed (Impatiens pallida). This is on a late morning with winds from the south, but a storm approaching from the west.
