Monarch, Captive-Reared
Sightings report image

Date: 09/02/2021

Number: 13

Since August 17th released 13 captive reared butterflies. They fuel up on nectar the next day and then are gone.

I have 2 resident females STILL laying eggs daily. I tell them please stop! There probably is 1K eggs on my property, although between the ants and the cardinals, only about 1% survive, unless I captive rear.

I currently have 10 in chrysalis, 18 caterpillars and 12 eggs found today - all on new shoots in the grass, which grows faster than I can cut the grass. Be ready for more butterflies coming down south.
