I have 2 patches of syriaca milkweed in our yard. In the patch on our busy corner there were 2 1st instar and 1 3rd instar. In the patch in the upper garden there were 1 5th instar and 3 2nd instar. I did not sample all of the many plants. There was evidence of past feeding on the plants in both locations. I have not seen even one adult butterfly.
