We saw 13 Monarchs in Native habitat today. Three lifted off of Joe Pye flowers at the same time. 20 minutes later Flint was taking this picture of a Monarch on Joe Pye while another was circling my head within reaching distance. The excursion ended with a Monarch came at to greet us at the cotton wood tree as we were leaving. I think I collected several eggs and saw milkweed freshly eaten, but we probably scared the little cat into the underworld. Too bad I dont have tags.
