Monarch depositing egg at the base of whorled milkweed plant stems; the stems are emerging following a 072021 maintenance mowing. This monarch would lay eggs within the Bermuda grass matrix then fly to a few whorled milkweed flowering stems at the edge of the Rio Grande to nectar.
