Monarch nectaring from whorled milkweed flowers within a matrix of three-square bulrush stems growing from the bank of the Rio Grande. Insects often harass each other from a flower corymb and take over the site to forage. This nectaring monarch is being harassed by a pair of wasps and flys away briefly then soon returns to this flower cluster.
