Multiple monarchs heading west

We saw multiple monarchs throughout the day heading westward, during peak sunlight hours, maybe between 9A -3 PM. I also encountered some feeding in gardens around Fire Island NY.
Several (more than 10 in total) were seen over 3 days (completing the report via cell phone is a bit cumbersome). The weather was clear and sunny with a mild wind, frequently from the N and sometimes from the E.
