100's of Monarchs in wooded river bottom

This was on my property which is on the West Fork Cedar River. Partially wooded with mostly soft Maple, Ash, Cottonwood, Elm and some Mulberry and Box Elder. Some open areas I cut for hay, a good stand of white and red clover. This was in mid-afternoon, they weren't roosting, just fluttering everywhere. 100 was a very conservative estimate. 10 or so years ago in this exact same location there were thousands of them. Only saw them one day each time, but I'm not out there all the time.
