Newly emerged monarch butterfly that I had the pleasure and great luck of watching! I got to witness this beautiful creature wiggle out and dry himself off on a nearby rock. (In this photo, he had just emerged and his wings were still puffy.) Later, I watched him take flight for the first time and sip nectar from our flowers. I hope he makes it on his amazing journey!
