This monarch nectaring from whorled milkweed flowers, with a distinctly notched wingtip, was first observed in the same location on 09062021, again on 09072021, and today on 09092021. In the earlier reported sighting of 09062021, this individual was nectaring on whorled milkweed flowers also supporting a foraging monarch caterpillar.

There are few flowers remaining from which to nectar and maintenance mowing is proceeding which will soon remove standing biomass at this site.
