Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/10/2021

Number: 16

At Eden Cemetery outside Rhodes IA for 50 minutes this evening, 6:45 to 7:35 pm. Sun went behind a smoke cloud when we got there, so it was unusual conditions. Wind had also changed to southeast today. Calm and in low 70s. Only 1 cluster as it got dark early, on a pine branch in the most protected location. 3 monarchs flew in from nectaring in clover field just to the south. And a few stayed in sycamore trees.
