Linda and Craig Gosdeck counted 180 monarchs roosting on the north side of the conifer wind break at W7503 Kampen Road, Arlington, WI - Goose Pond Sanctuary. At roost time winds were very light from the southwest with a clear sky and70 degrees. Linda and Craig also netted and tagged 25 monarchs in the local area before the monarchs began roosting.
Mark lead a group of four netters in the afternoon who caught 80 monarchs in less than two hours in an area of seven acres. This was about 600 yards west of the roost site. This was a very good day for monarchs and over 300 were tagged. Data entered by Mark Martin, Resident Co-manager.
