Multiple monarch larvae of various stages (hatch dates) on planted milkweed (33 total counted, but likely more). Pictured caterpillar is moving toward bushes where they like to chrysalis. I have approximately 75 milkweed plants tented with bug netting in front yard,I leave some uncovered for adult monarchs to eat from and lay eggs on, but must tent majority to prevent predation by wasps. Once larvae have gone to chrysalis, I untent the milkweed to allow for pollination, and egg laying and start the process again once I see signs of hatching eggs. I have hatched approximately 150 monarchs successfully this year using this method.
