Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/12/2021

Number: 100

I put 100 because they were all over a purple clover field necturing. I caught and tagged 90 from the area.

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/15/21]:

We went out twice for a total of 1/2 hr each time. I tagged 45-50 on each trip.
2-2:30 AND it was about 5:30-6 the other time.
There were more to be seen each time than I got tagged.
They were nectaring on purple clover.
There would be no way to catch (or count) them when they were nectaring as you couldn't see them.
So, we would walk and "stir" them up and catch and tag.
This is the same field where I tagged last year....before they mowed.......
