Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/12/2021

Number: 4

We have at least 4 of ours still with us. That is a conservative figure. Our adult resident male left nearly a week ago now, on the 7th. I can't tell if our adult resident mama female is still with us or not. I can pinpoint the location of 3 juveniles pretty much all day long as each are perched in different locations around the yard guarding their respective feeders/flowers. Two are definitely female juveniles and the third, I think, is also female (definitely a juvenile), but does have what appears to be a dot on its chest. All three are very comfortable with me and allow me to get near them. There are others zipping around as well. I just haven't been able to spend as much time studying them.

One of the juveniles seems to enjoy my company and sits within a couple feet of me if I sit out on the patio with her. She squeaks at me. Another one likes to come near me and check me out.

I'm going to really miss them when they head south. I pray they all have safe and pleasant journeys. What a blessing and treat they are!
