Before 5pm had been strong SW for 2 days.
Overnight low 19°c
Cold front arrived late Afternoon.
Established roosts at Tip shuttle stop at 5:30pm of 2's, 3's, 6. All increased by Sunset with largest of 43 monarchs. Monarchs clustered on Virginia creeper & Grape vines. Also on Hackberry, bare branches & a few on Juniper.
Further south at Tip interior & visiting twice only 4 individuals were seen. Rested on Hackberry & bare branches.
All appeared pristine but one had a very tattered forewing & it was the only one nectaring which it did on Goldenrod. Goldenrod is plentiful with some still fresh & others senescenced. Asters are beginning to bloom.
Observations by binoculars, camera & clicker.
