Hundreds of monarchs flying West at 3:30 p
[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/15/21]:
We were at Cedar beach at the north side of Long Island. We reach easterly into the Atlantic. We watched them for about 2&1/2 hours. They came in groups of 10 or 12. They were snout10 or 12 feet above the ground, heading West ( which is good, because 10 miles South is the Ocean!) the wind was favorably from the North. I was back to the same area today, the wind had changed. Saw a dozen or so in the cedar forest. I believe the ones the day before my have been looking for a roost. When the wind is favorable again, I will check it out.
