Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/16/2021

Number: 4

Still have at least 4 rubies, but probably a couple more as I saw 4 all together today chasing one another. Our resident adult male left on the 7th. I believe our resident adult female has also left. Seems like we have all juveniles now. The last couple of days, they have been more calm and peaceful. There's still a bit of chasing and fighting going on, but nothing like there had been. Today, I could find many of them peacefully perching near their feeders around the yard, both front and back. They are feeding from both remaining flowers and feeders and I can see them going after insects as well. Some of my juveniles are very friendly and curious about me. Several like to perch near me when I'm outside. I had no idea prior to this summer that they do that. It's been incredible to experience.
