Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/06/2021

Number: 1

I spotted an injured adult monarch sipping nectar from the wildflowers in an open field along the Vaughn Woods trails. He or she seemed to be flying okay despite the injured or deformed lower wing on one side. Wish I could have gotten closer to him/her to see if I could help with the wing and determine the sex of the butterfly, but he/she wasn't having it.
