We have a lot of trees and the weather has been nice.

All three days were roosts. We see a few during the day flying, but when we count is when they are roosting. The monarchs usually are roosting by 3:00 or 4:00 pm and are gone in the morning when we look again. We have different annuals, perennials, fruit trees, milk weed and a lot of various trees. We live at the bottom of a small in town hill. Pretty well protected from wind. We usually see them in the Honey Locust, Honeysuckle, or Maple trees. My husband and I both will count and take the average. When we first bought our house, 18 years ago, we had hundreds and hundreds of them roosting. It was awesome. After the big freeze in Mexico we did not see them for many years. We just started getting them back in the last 5 years. Two years ago we had probably 100 a day for a few days. Last year it turned cold early and we didn’t have but a few one day. I was happy this year we had more.
