single monarch possibly flushed from tall lilac hedge still wet with dew at 0953 hours. this butterfly moved slowly to W.

second monarch at 1055 circling brilliant bed of zinnias but not seen to nectar; either disturbed by our presence or too many other butterfly, bee, and honeybee pollinators flitting and buzzing about the flowers. this monarch moved away toward the SSW.
